Ventura College sophomore short stop Brittany Perez was named the Western State Conference North Division Player of the Year. Allan Hancock College freshman right hander Bailey Killough took home Pitcher of the Year honors, and Ventura first-year head coach Sonia Ford was named the Coach of the Year.

Perez led the WSC North in batting in 2017, hitting .477 for the Pirates. Perez finished second in RBIs for the division with 49, while hitting a WSC North high 11 home runs. Perez also posted a .531 on-base percentage and a .923 slugging percentage for the year.

Killough meanwhile was second in the WSC North in wins with a 17-6 mark in the circle. She led the entire league, both North and East, in ERA (1.33), and finished with a respectable 95 punch outs on the year.

Ford earned Coach of the Year honors in just her first year in charge of the Pirates after spending the last 12 season as an assistant. Ford was named the Coach of the Year after she led Ventura to a co-championship in the WSC North, their first title since 2012.
