Canyons Wins 7th Straight Men’s Golf Title and 22nd Overall
The College of the Canyons Men’s Golf team won their seventh straight Western State Conference Championship last week and their 22nd overall. The Cougars wrapped up the title, finishing in first place at the 2016 WSC Finals by 20 strokes.
The College of the Canyons Men's Golf team won their seventh straight Western State Conference Championship last week and their 22nd overall. The Cougars wrapped up the title, finishing in first place at the 2016 WSC Finals by 20 strokes.
The Cougars were paced by Will Barnett, the WSC Player of the Year, and Ben Campbell who posted two round totals of 147 and 150 respectively. Jaeyeol Kim wasn't far behind with a 151. As a team the Cougars shot a combined 759, 20 strokes ahead of second place Ventura College (779), and third place Citrus College (782) who earned the final team spot in the Southern California regionals thanks to their showing at the Finals.
Along with the entire Canyons, Ventura, and Citrus teams, eight other individuals from across the conference will represent the WSC at the 2016 Southern California Regionals in Murrieta.
