Allan Hancock Locks Up WSC Gold Championship With Win at Cuesta
San Luis Obispo, CA -- The Allan Hancock College softball team locked up the Western State Conference Gold Division Championship on Thursday afternoon with a 11-0 five inning win over second place Cuesta College. It’s the second straight conference championship for the Bulldogs and their sixth in program history.
San Luis Obispo, CA -- The Allan Hancock College softball team locked up the Western State Conference Gold Division Championship on Thursday afternoon with a 11-0 five inning win over second place Cuesta College. It's the second straight conference championship for the Bulldogs and their sixth in program history.
Hancock chipped away at the Cougars from the jump, scoring a single run in each of the first, second, and third innings. The Bulldogs really pulled away in the top of the fourth with three runs, before ending the game in the top of the fifth with five more scores.
Sophomore starting pitcher Katie Chenault continued her dominance pitching a complete game one hitter, surrendering two walks, and striking out nine total batters. She helped herself at the plate as well, going 2 for 2 with 3 RBI's.
The Bulldogs have two games remaining on their 2015 WSC Gold schedule, as they travel to Oxnard College for a double-header on Tuesday.
