Canyons Women Take Fourth Straight WSC South Title; SBCC Claims Second WSC North Title in History
The College of the Canyons Women's Soccer program locked up its fourth straight Western State Conference South Division Championship last week. In the Western State Conference North Division it was Santa Barbara City College who claimed their second conference title in program history.

The Cougars wrapped up the conference crown with a 1-0 win against Citrus College in the season finale. Canyons totaled 37 points in conference play edging Santa Monica College by a single point. Freshman forward Marissa Kneisel (18 goals) helped guide the Cougars to their eighth conference title overall.
Santa Barbara meanwhile won just for the second time in program history, the first coming in 2011. The Vaqueros racked up 30 points in conference play, finishing three points clear of second place Los Angeles Pierce College. Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Croooker (18 goals) will lead Santa Barbara into the post-season for the fifth straight year.
A total of five WSC schools will be representing the conference in the 2014 California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Playoffs. Canyons earned the highest seed at #3, while Santa Barbara was seeded #4. Santa Monica College was seeded #7, Ventura College #10, and Los Angeles Pierce College rounded out the playoff selections and was seeded #12.
