Pierce’s Mardini & Moyles are East Players of the Year; VVC’s Kelley Named Libero of the Year
Los Angeles Pierce College sophomore setter Peyton Moyles was named the Western State Conference East Division Player of the Year, and her Head Coach Nabil Mardini was named the Coach of the Year. Victor Valley College sophomore libero Taryn Kelley would wrap up the third major award, taking home Libero of the Year honors.

Moyles earned the award after starting alll 28 matches for the Brahmas throughout the regular season and conference play. Moyles handed out 1,014 in total, averaging 10.45 assists per set. Her assists per set average was tops in the WSC and 5th in the entire CCCAA. Her total assist numbers meanwhile were also the best in the WSC by almost 200 assists, and were 3rd across the entire State. Moyles also contributed the Brahma effort in other ways, recording 54 aces and 191 digs
Kelley helped pace the Rams to a second place finish in the WSC East as Victor Valley College entered it's first year as members of the Western State Conference. Kelley averaged 5.78 digs per set (2nd in the WSC | 10th in the CCCAA), and totaled 474 digs on the season. Kelley also added 27 aces and 56 assists for good measure.
Mardini picked up his 9th Coach of the Year award in his tenure with LA Pierce College and second straight. Mardini helmed his team to another fantastic campaign in 2016, amassing 26 regular season wins, going a perfect 8-0 in WSC East play, and losing just three matches throughout the entirety of the season.
