In just it's second year of existence the Santa Barbara City College Women's Water Polo program has set itself on a meteoric path. After winning the 2014 WSC Women's Water Polo title in it's inaugural campaign last season, the Vaqueros repeated this season, avenging an earlier regular season loss to LA Valley College with a 10-8 win over the Monarchs in the championship game of the 2015 WSC Championships.
The Vaqueros went 6-1 during the WSC regular season, with their only loss a 12-11 sudden death overtime setback to LA Valley College. Santa Barbara would of course overcome that at the end of the season, with that 10-8 victory. The win in the championship game gave Santa Barbara 26 points, edging the Monarchs by two.
Thanks to their conference title, the Vaqueros headed into the 2015 CCCAA SoCal Regionals as the #7 seed. Santa Barbara opened up post-season play with a 10-5 win over in the first round. Their season would come to a close a day later, when they gave #2 seed and eventual State Champion San Diego Mesa College. The Vaqueros gave the Olympians all they could handle before falling 8-5, and finishing the 2015 season with a 20-13 record.
