Lopez Named WSC MVP; Greaney Earns 5th Straight Coach of Year Award
Oxnard College, winner of the Western State Conference Men’s Soccer Championship for the third straight season, swept the top post-season awards for the conference recently. Sophomore forward Johnny Lopez was named the conference Most Valuable Player, while Head Coach Ross Greaney was named the Coach of the Year for the fifth year running.

Lopez, a 1st team All-WSC selection as a freshman, was named the MVP on the strength of his offensive play this past season. Lopez was second in the WSC in goals scored (13) and second in total points (33), as he helped guide the Condors to the post-season yet again. Lopez was the top goal scorer for the top scoring team in the conference (49 goals), and handed out seven assists for good measure.
Greaney meanwhile continued to keep the Condors atop the WSC standings for the third straight year. Greaney was recognized for his work with his sixth overall Coach of the Year Award. Greaney led the Condors to a 12-0-4 conference record and 13-3-5 mark overall.
