Dahl and Page Sweep WSC South Women’s Basketball Awards
Bakersfield College Head Coach Paula Dahl and sophomore center Nakia Page swept the top award in the Western State Conference South Division over the weekend. Dahl was named the Coach of the Year, while Page took home Player of the Year honors.
Bakersfield College Head Coach Paula Dahl and sophomore center Nakia Page swept the top award in the Western State Conference South Division over the weekend. Dahl was named the Coach of the Year, while Page took home Player of the Year honors.
It was the 4th Coach of the Year Award for Dahl in her long tenure at Bakersfield College. Dahl had previously been named the WSC Coach of the year in 1991, 2000, and 2013. This season, Dahl led the Rengades to one of their best season in program history, going 24-4 overall and 11-3 in WSC South play. It was just the third WSC title in program history for Bakersfield.
Page meanwhile was the bedrock of the Renegade foundation in 2014-2015. Page was the second leading scorer in the entire WSC (17.8 ppg), while finishing eighth in rebounds (7.7 rpg), second in blocks (2.0 bpg), and fourth in field goal percentage (47.9%).
