Womack Named Player of the Year; Gover and Mardini Share Coach of the Year Honors
Santa Barbara City College’s outside hitter Katelyn Womack was named the WSC North Player of the Year recently, the ninth such player in the school’s history, and the fourth straight Vaquero to earn the award. Her Head Coach Ed Gover meanwhile split the Coach of the Year award with Los Angeles Pierce College’s Nabil Mardini.

Her Head Coach Ed Gover meanwhile split the Coach of the Year award with Los Angeles Pierce College's Nabil Mardini.
Womack totaled 353 kills (3.21 kills per set), with 299 digs (2.72 digs per set), and 38 total blocks. Womack did so with a .155 kill percentage, adding 25 aces.
Gover meanwhile led Santa Barbara it's 12th overall conference championship and it's fourth straight WSC North title. It's the fifth time that Gover has been named the Coach of the Year. Mardini meanwhile led the Brahmas to their 14th conference championship, the most in WSC history. Mardini's team made it all the way to the CCCAA State Championship game, finishing second in the State. It's his 5th WSC Coach of the Year award.
