Six Men’s Basketball Programs to Represent WSC in Upcoming Post-Season
The 2014 California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Men’s Basketball Playoff seeds were announced on Monday afternoon, and the Western State Conference will have six representatives in the post-season. Three teams from each of the WSC North and WSC South qualified for the playoffs.

Leading the way is the #1 overall seed out of the WSC South Antelope Valley College (26-4, 11-1). Another team from the WSC South was the next highest seed, as Glendale College (21-5, 9-3) snagged the #7 seed. WSC North champ Cuesta College (21-9, 10-2) was granted the #9 seed, while Citrus College (15-8, 8-4) was the final WSC South representative in the #11 spot. The WSC North rounded out the final two spots as Ventura College (16-12, 9-3) was given the #19 seed, and Allan Hancock College (16-13, 7-5) was given the final entry into the post-season as the #20 seed.
The Marauders, Vaqueros, Cougars, and Owls will all get byes through the first round, while the Pirates and Bulldogs begin post-season play on Wednesday. Ventura will travel to #14 seed Mt. San Antonio College, while Allan Hancock will make the long trek to #13 San Diego City College. Antelope Valley will open up the playoffs on Saturday when it hosts the winner of #16 Long Beach City College and #17 Santa Ana College, while Glendale will play host to #10 Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday night. Cuesta will travel to #8 Cerritos College, and Citrus will travel to #6 East Los Angeles College, with both games set for a Friday tip.
If the Pirates and Bulldogs advance past Wednesday's games they will get to take on the #3 overall seed Mt. San Jacinto College and #4 seed Chaffey College respectively on Saturday evening.
