Canyons and Three Individuals Advance to State Championships
College of the Canyons followed up it’s 2013 WSC Team Championship, by finishing second at the 2013 California Community College Athletic Association Men’s Golf Southern California Championships. The Cougars finished just behind first place Orange Coast College, and barely edged conference rival Santa Barbara City College to advance to the State Championships.

Riley Hayfield led the way for the Cougars during the two rounds at Costa Mesa Country Club. Hayfield opened up the tournament with a 71 and then shot a 74 to post a two round low total of 145 for the Cougars. Hayfield finished fifth overall. Just behind Hayfield were his teammates Sidney Wolf and Jake Katz, both posted two round totals of 146.
Along with College of the Canyons, three individuals will represent the WSC at the State Championships. Santa Barbara's Charlie Holyoke, Dodge Ward, and Steven Lam, all advanced as individuals.
