The Vaqueros meanwhile just edged third place College of the Desert by two strokes. The Vaqueros trailed by nine strokes after the morning round, but rallied and bested the Roadrunners by 11 strokes in the afternoon round to finish in second place.
Individually, aside from Patton, College of the Canyons sophomore Eric Kim finished second individually with a two-round combined six under par. Teammate Sam Sloman (-4) finished in fourth, while Santa Barbara's Manny Manzone (-4) finished fifth.
In addition to the full teams from Canyons and Santa Barbara qualifying for the State Championships, Matt Thomas of Ventura and Alejandro Nicolini of Allan Hancock both qualified as individuals.
