Rausch Named CCCWVCA State Player of the Week
Sacramento, Calif. - Ventura College sophomore outside hitter Josephine Rausch was named CCCWVCA State Player of the Week, announced Monday.
Rausch racked up 20 kills, adding 11 digs, five aces, and two blocks in the No. 24 Pirates' four-set upset of No. 6 Santa Barbara last week. She also had a 10-kill performance against LA Mission. Overall, it's the ninth time she has tallied a double-double match and the third time she's eclipsed the 20-kills mark.
On the season, Rausch is averaging 3.38 kills per set and 2.67 digs per set with 28 total aces.
Rausch is the seventh CCCWVCA State Player of the Week from the Western State Conference this season. She is the first honoree from Ventura and joins Santa Barbara middle blocker Hazel Irvine (Week No. 2), outside hitter Bayley Padia (Week No. 4), and setter/opposite Stephanie Groswirt (Week. No. 8); LA Mission's outside hitter Madison "Maddie" Perry (Week No. 4) and middle blocker Amya Cheatham-January (Week No. 7); and Santa Monica's middle blocker/outside hitter/libero Mia Whitlock (Week No. 7).
San Joaquin Delta's outside hitter Hadlee Gray and Taft setter/opposite Vienna Perier join Rausch as the other two CCCWVCA State Players of the Week for Week No. 11.
