Santa Barbara Advances to Regional Finals
Santa Barbara City College, co-champs of the WSC North and the #4 seed in the 2013 post-season advanced to the 2013 CCCAA Volleyball SoCal Regional Finals on Saturday evening with a five set victory over #12 Pasadena City College. The win makes SBCC that last remaining WSC team in the post-season.

Santa Barbara dropped the first set 19-25, before rallying with 25-19 wins in both the second and third sets. The Lancers didn't go quietly though, defeating the Vaqueros 29-27 in an epic game four, but Santa Barbara rallied in the fifth winning 15-13. Jasmine Ward led all SBCC hitters with 17 kills, while Madelon Leiphardt notched 61 assists.
In other WSC action, #10 College of the Canyons was swept in straight sets by #2 Grossmont College 25-18, 25-16, 26-24. Serena LeDuff paced the Cougar effort with 13 kills.
Santa Barbara will now take on #1 overall seed and undefeated Irvine Valley College in Irvine on Tuesday December 3rd at 6:00 PM.
