Santa Barbara and Canyons Move on to Round #2
Western State Conference North Division Co-Champ Santa Barbara City College and Western State Conference South Division Champ College of the Canyons both moved on to round #2 on Tuesday evening after picking up wins in the first round of the 2013 CCCAA Women’s Volleyball Southern California Regionals.

Santa Barbara, the #4 seed in the post-season, defeated fellow WSC mate #13 Citrus College in four sets in the opening round 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-15. The Vaqueros got 14 kills from Madison Waddell and 12 kills from Jenna Anderson, Citrus was paced by a match high 21 kills from Danielle Hundley.
#10 College of the Canyons recorded one of two upsets in first round action, as they took down #7 Cypress College in four sets 13-25, 25-22, 25-15, and 25-17. Serena LeDuff and Lauren Underwood each had 18 kills for the Cougars in the win.
In other WSC action, #9 LA Pierce College fell to #8 Fullerton College in five sets, ending their three run of CCCAA State Titles. #13 Bakersfield College, also fell, in four sets to #6 El Camino College.
