Avanessian and Hang Help LA Valley Sweep WSC South Awards
Los Angeles Valley College sophomore Annie Avanessian and Head Coach Monica Hang both wrapped up a fantastic 2012-2013 season for the Monarchs by sweeping the WSC South Awards recently. Avanessian was the WSC South Player of the Year, while Hang was the WSC South Coach of the Year.
Los Angeles Valley College sophomore Annie Avanessian and Head Coach Monica Hang both wrapped up a fantastic 2012-2013 season for the Monarchs by sweeping the WSC South Awards recently. Avanessian was the WSC South Player of the Year, while Hang was the WSC South Coach of the Year.
Avanessian nearly averaged a double-double this past season, averaging 16.7 points per game and 8.5 rebounds a contest. Avanessian also averaged 1.7 steals a game, while shooting 44.8% from the floor and 74.4% from the charity stripe.
Hang helped lead LA Valley to one of its most successful seasons in program history. The Monarchs won the WSC South Championship for the first time since 2003 after going 23-9 on the year.
